The Russians are planning to invite the Americans and Chinese to participate in the mission once its finalized. Scientists step-up to save the world. Russia's Space Agency is preparing to hold a closed meeting on an approaching Asteroid.But there's no need for immediate concern an encounter with Asteroid Apophis is predicted for April 2036. According to the head of the Russian Agency there could be a way to avoid a collision without having to destroy the asteroid. It was discovered in 2004 and the probability of an impact has changed several times since then. Last year the California-based Planetary Society awarded a 50 thousand dollars prize for a space probe that would allow precise tracking of the asteroid.
