U.S. Stocks Advance as Fed Pledges to Keep Rates Low
March 16 (Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg's Deborah Kostroun reports on the performance of the U.S. equity market today. Stocks rose, with the Standard & Poors 500 Index reaching a 17-month high, as the Federal Reserve said it will leave its main interest rate near zero for an extended period to safeguard the economic recovery.
