At least 13 people are dead, including a DC police officer and the suspected shooter, Aaron Alexis, after a mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard in Southeast DC, according to Mayor Vincent Gray. Another shooter may still be at-large. Approximately 3,000 members of the military, government employees and contractors work in the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) headquarters in Building 197. The Navy Yard and surrounding areas, including the US Department of Transportation and Nationals Stadium, were on lockdown starting at 8:20 a.m. Local and federal authorities set up a reunification center in a parking lot at the nearby baseball stadium.
