Governments are creating money and credit out of thin air

Bob Chapman wrote in the International forecaster of September 29 2010:"All the government has to do is request that the Fed purchase their debt and they do so by creating money and credit out of thin air. This is monetization and it’s inflationary. This is how government pays for mandated services. The taxes for such were already extracted from the public, but unbeknownst to most of the public these funds have already been spent. This is how Social Security, Medicare and all those other bailout services are being funded. Foreigners are buying only 25% of US government debt. The slack is and has been assumed by the Fed, which the people eventually get to pay for. Today we are in a lull, a sort of magical time, when the very superstructure of the system is being destroyed, but it is not particularly noticeable. The economy, we might add, is going sideways, with the assistance of $2.5 trillion a year. That can last for several years but in the end inflation goes rampant and sometimes becomes hyperinflation as we have seen in the Weimar Republic and most recently in Zimbabwe. Inflation, as consumers can attest to, is already climbing and the roar of higher inflation is not far off. One of the events that will kick that off will be bank lending of the funds they hold, some $1.5 trillion, which presently are sterilized, but become monetized once they are lent or spent. We can assure you that day is just over the horizon. This, once raging, will cause political, social and perhaps military conflict. If you look back in history when such problems existed those in power create another war or they subject their own people. Historically this hasn’t been difficult, but today is different, because talk radio and the Internet have allowed people to know and understand what has been and will be forced upon them and by whom."

Death Of Dollar Via Gold Silver Manipulation? Mike Maloney
http://www.goldsilverdvd.com Hi folks. This is a response to the question from BGBurch, thanks mate. There has been so much talk about manipulation lately...word is really getting out. There are two chapters devoted to it in the film "Why Gold and Silver?", but I figured now would be a good time to post some of Mike's thoughts from last week on this topic. This is just a short snippet of a two hour conversation, eventually we will edit this into another production but for now here's a raw untouched clip. More to follow. Trailers for the movie coming shortly. Exciting times huh? How do you feel about all this?

Bob Chapman wrote on the International forecaster of the 6th of October 2010 :"Residential and commercial real estate is again headed lower. July was weak and it usually is one of the best months of the year. Medium home prices fell in August 0.6%, off for four of the past five months and at a 7-month low. No one really knows what inventory figures really are due to a lender shadow inventory. Officially it is 11.6-months, four months is normal, and it could easily be 18 months, if not more. During the coming year home prices will fall another 10 to 20 percent. Those numbers will be exacerbated by subprime and ALT-A loans recently written by agencies to keep housing afloat."

Matthew Walls
The Wall Street Journal
Octover 7, 2010
Spot gold surged higher to a new record, fueled by bullish sentiment and a weak dollar.
News that Vietnam had lifted a two-year old ban on gold imports was cited as just one more reason to buy gold, adding steam to the rally as gold races towards $1,400 a troy ounce faster than many had predicted.
Spot gold reached a high of $1,364.95 a troy ounce. In morning trading, it was 0.8% higher on the day at $1,359.50. Other metals followed, with palladium jumping nearly 4% to a nine-year high of $600.50.

Yen Strong Despite Bank of Japan Moves
In today's market report... the yen remained strong against the dollar, despite words from the Japanese central bank chief that it's affecting the nation's economy.
Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa, who's in Washington for the Group of Seven nations meeting, says the sharp yen rises weaken business sentiment and corporate profit.
Japan cut interest rates to zero this week and intervened in September to weaken the yen, but the currency has showed persistent strength.
Shares in Japan were flat early Friday, with the yen near a 15-year peak against the dollar.
Shirakawa says he hopes to explain the Bank of Japan's interest cutting decision when he meets counterparts on Friday.
U.S. payrolls data later in the day, as well as comments from the G7, are expected to keep Japanese and Asian investors in a wait-and-see stance.

World Bank Warns Of Global Currency Tensions
President of the World Bank Robert Zoellick has warned that gobal currency tensions need to be resolved. With IMF and World Bank meetings due this weekend, China in particular is under pressure to let its currency rise.
World Bank President Robert Zoellick said on Thursday currency tensions could lead to trouble if not properly managed.
[Robert Zoellick, World Bank President]:
"History shows there is no future in beggar-thy-neighbor policies and in an increasingly connected world we need not just to be conscious of the negative effects that policies can have on others, but we need to act accordingly. Today we face currency tensions. Tensions can lead to trouble if not properly managed."
IMF and World Bank meetings this weekend are expected to involve intense discussions about efforts to persuade China to let its currency rise.
China held the yuan stable during the financial crisis but in June promised to let it respond more freely to market forces -- yet since then it has risen only about 2 percent against the U.S. dollar.
Zoellick says China's currency should appreciate, but that is not a "silver bullet" in solving global imbalances.
He says the U.S bears responsibility as well.
[Robert Zoellick, World Bank President]:
"The U.S. has the reverse situation. It has relatively lower savings and higher consumption, so these will be issues the U.S will need to deal with in terms of spending and budget issues."
The IMF warned that the task of reducing heavy government debt burdens, while essential, would put a significant drag on those economies.
Slow growth at home leaves countries unusually reliant on exports, and this has heightened concerns they will intentionally weaken their currencies to boost trade.

Gold Climbs the Bull Market Wall of Worry

Bob Chapman - Dont Trust The politiciansBob Chapman wrote in The International Forecastter of the 6th Oct 2010 :" October 6 2010: Joblessness dogs the economy, its worse than the 1930's today, suffering and pain on the streets, no incentive to create jobs, living standards continue to fall, pray the incumbents are defeated, blame for the Flash Cras, TARP sequels coming.
Joblessness still dogs the economy, which needs 125,000 jobs monthly just to keep up with population growth. As we await September’s statistics we wonder if they’ll be as bad as August’s loss of 54,000 jobs? This unfortunate situation has been going on for more than three years; 22 million Americans do not have jobs and some 10,000 million additional are forced to work part-time, some 34 hours a week. Having real unemployment at 22-5/8% makes recovery very difficult. That figures is U-6 less the bogus birth/death ratio. It’s not surprising that credit card and mortgage debt go unpaid as default and foreclosure accelerate. These conditions are certainly a drag on sales. As those sales falter businesses lay off more workers, which exacerbates the problem....etc..."
