Billions of Earth-like planets in the Milky Way

A team led by by Erik Petigura at the University of California, Berkeley, say there may be up to two billion planets, oribiting stars like our own, capable of supporting life as we know it in the Milky Way.
Using data from the Kepler space telescope the team came to the latest estimation -- and there may be billions upon billions more planets like our own orbiting around far more common red dwarf stars.
