China is now in ~ An Open Message To Congress On Syria

The situation is really getting very critical and desperate. Today China sends its ships to cruise off the coast of Syria. This is the first time ever in the history of China to have warships cruising the Mediterranean. If that does not tell us the gravity of the situation or how the Chinese perceive the impending attack by the US and his cronies on Syria, I don't know what will. China, while playing lip service to UN initially, is now reacting with action. It tells us - all is no good and not well.

Depleted Uranium - banned by UN used by The US

The use of DU in munitions is controversial because of questions about potential long-term health effects. Normal functioning of the kidney, brain, liver, heart, and numerous other systems can be affected by uranium exposure, because uranium is a toxic metal. It is weakly radioactive (nevertheless definitely a cancerogenic and causes genetic mutation, disrupts DNA) and remains so because of its long radioactive half-life (4.468 billion years for U-238, 700 million years for U 235). The biological half-life (the average time it takes for the human body to eliminate half the amount in the body) for uranium is about 15 days. The aerosol or spallation frangible powder produced during impact and combustion of depleted uranium munitions can potentially contaminate wide areas around the impact sites, leading to possible inhalation by human beings, rendering the site inhibitable forever.

Rush Limbaugh on Syria: How Does It Feel To Agree With A Former KGB Agent Over Your Own President?

9/5/13 - The news out today is that Russia has compiled a 100-page report of evidence that the Syrian rebels used chemical weapons, not the Assad regime. Even the NY Times documents the brutality of the Syrian rebels today, saying it creates a dilemma for the West. So given all of this, plus the fact that Obama and Kerry have lied many times over, Rush laments how difficult it is to have to agree with Russia over the word of our own American president and explains why he feels he must:

Rush Limbaugh Says Obama's 'Red Line' Blame Shifting Puts His 'Stability' in Question: 'Psycopathic'

9/5/13 - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh told his audience on Thursday that some are becoming concerned about the president's mental health. Limbaugh said that President Barack Obama declaring the use of chemical weapons in Syria a "red line" and then shifting that declaration to Congress and the international community once it was crossed is "psychopathic."

Limbaugh played a clip of the president in Sweden on Wednesday telling reporters that the world and Congress set the "red line" prohibiting the use of chemical weapons in Syria and he only referenced it in the summer of 2012.

"This is some-pathic, I don't know what kind," Limbaugh said. "Psychopathic, it's some pathic."

"It's Congress' fault, because they're the ones that passed a resolution decades ago against the use of chemical weapons," he added. "Oh yeah, it's the Republicans fault."

"There are people watching this and I'm telling you they're questioning the stability of the people running this country and they're scared to death," Limbaugh asserted.

Limbaugh said that the country is better off if it does not intervene in the Syrian civil war and accept the lost credibility that will result when nothing comes of Obama's forceful declarations about the need to act.

"This is dangerous," Limbaugh added. "It's not Obama cleverly outwitting his opponents. He's President of the United States and he's not up to it."

"He doesn't want the job," he insisted. "He'll be glad to raise your taxes and control your life with health care, but he doesn't want to do this stuff. It's too messy."

"It is his credibility on the line and there's nothing he can do about that," Limbaugh continued. "Can you imagine any president ever say, 'it's not my problem, it's America's problem."

"Who the hell says that? Who -- what kind of person thinks that?" the radio hosts went on.

Sebastian Mallaby (1964) is a British-born journalist and author; and director of the Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies (CGS) and Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). He is a contributing editor for the Financial Times and was a columnist and editorial board member at the Washington Post. In addition to a monthly column for the Financial Times, his recent writing has been published in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Atlantic Monthly. In 2012 he published a Foreign Affairs essay on the future of China's currency. His books include More Money Than God (2010) and The World's Banker (2004).

Sebastian Mallaby is the son of Sir Christopher Mallaby, who was Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Germany (1988-1993) and Ambassador of the United Kingdom to France (1993-1996). He was educated at Eton College, won an academic scholarship to Oxford University, and graduated in 1986 with a First Class degree in modern history. His interests include financial markets, the implications of the rise of newly emerging powers, and the intersection of economics and international relations.

Mallaby worked at the Washington Post from 1999 to 2007 as a columnist and member of the editorial board. Prior to that he spent thirteen years with The Economist, in London, where he wrote about foreign policy and international finance. He also spent time in Africa, where he covered Nelson Mandela's release and the collapse of apartheid; and in Japan, where he covered the breakdown of the country's political and economic consensus during the 90s. Between 1997 and 1999 Mallaby was the Economist's Washington bureau chief and wrote the magazine's weekly "Lexington" column on American politics and foreign policy. His 2002 Foreign Affairs essay "The Reluctant Imperialist" about failed states was cited by commentators in the New York Times, Financial Times, and Time magazine. Mallaby is a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist: in 2005 for editorials on Darfur and in 2007 for a series on economic inequality in America.

Mallaby's latest book is More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite (2010). Washington Post columnist Steve Pearlstein called it "the definitive history of the hedge fund industry, a compelling narrative full of larger-than-life characters and dramatic tales of their financial triumphs and reversals." It was the recipient of the 2011 Gerald Loeb Award, a finalist in the 2010 Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award, and a 2010 New York Times bestseller. Mallaby's previous books are The World's Banker (2004), a portrait of the World Bank under James Wolfensohn; and After Apartheid (1992), which was a New York Times Notable Book. An essay in the Financial Times said of The World's Banker, "Mallaby's book may well be the most hilarious depiction of a big organization and its controversial boss since Michael Lewis's, Liar's Poker.

Syria in the crosshairs
09/05/2013
On the Thursday, September 5 broadcast of the Alex Jones Show, Alex analyzes the steady beating of the war drums and why they will likely reach crescendo in a Syrian military strike, which will undoubtedly leave hundreds of innocents dead in its wake, unless independent media can alert enough people in time to prevent it. Alex also breaks down the latest attempt at propagandizing the American people through a fake Alyssa Milano sex tape, Russia's warning of a nuclear disaster should the US attack Syria and China's buildup of warships off the coast of Syria. On today's show, Alex welcomes Director of Gun Owners of America Larry Pratt to discuss Obama's recent gun control initiatives, which authorized the closing of a little-known gun-buying loophole and banned the re-importation of military surplus firearms. We'll also take your calls during this worldwide transmission.

Ron Paul Squares Off Against Alex Wagner About Syria on MSNBC - Must Watch - September 5, 2013

9/5/13 - Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) joined MSNBC's Alex Wagner on Thursday for a wide-ranging and contentious interview focused on President Barack Obama's push for American intervention in the Syrian civil war. What followed was a tense and heated exchange between the two ideologically unaligned figures about the need for intervention in Syria, American foreign policy in general, and Paul's speaking before "anti-Semitic" groups.

Wagner opened by asking about a recent interview Paul conducted with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange on his web-based interview program, but the conversation quickly turned to the push for intervention in Syria.

Paul questioned the "so-called gas deaths" in Syria supposedly ordered by President Bashar al-Assad and suggested that pro-intervention advocates have absolved the rebel factions fighting against Assad of any malfeasance.

"Do you really think President Obama is looking for a reason to go to war in Syria," Wagner asked She noted that the president has been reluctant to go to war.

"I think the pressure comes from the people around him," Paul said. "It might be contradicting some of his self-instincts."

Paul said that the leadership of both the Democratic and Republican Parties in Congress are behind Syrian intervention in opposition to rank-and-file opinion.

"I think there's a historic event going on here and if this vote is won, that is defeat the request to have a more military approach to Syria, I think it'll be historic," Paul said. He noted that such a defeat would be an unusual alignment of the "libertarian Republicans" and the "progressive Democrats."

Wagner appeared to agree with Paul but countered his assertion by saying that it was the president's push for an unpopular war in Congress which united Democrats and Republicans against him. "Do you not applaud the president for making that decision?" Wagner asked.

Paul did not. He said that the president came under pressure and did not seek Congressional authority out of deference to the Constitution.

"In terms of surveillance, how confident are you that we are seeing the end of what has been termed the American empire in terms of a broad overreach and surveillance of Americans citizens" Wagner asked.

"We haven't' seen the end of it," Paul replied. "Tyrants and empires cling desperately, and their best weapon is lying."

Paul said the "people are waking up" and he was encouraged by a close vote in the House in which the Amash/Conyers Amendment to scale back the powers of the National Security Agency was narrowly defeated.

Paul added that this problem would also be solved if the "conspiracy" of the American government to "run all these wars" was ended and American troops came home.

"We haven't proven any lies yet from this administration," Paul said. "But believe me, there's going to be found many, many deceptions."

Wagner took issue with this statement. "Don't you think this is sort of irresponsible?" she asked.

Paul went on to say that there is little proof to suggest that Assad is behind the use of chemical weapons in Syria. "Quite frankly, if they were honest with us -- some are, some of the neo-cons are more honest, Tehran is -- this is all to do with getting Iran and taking that country over, and we've been doing that since 1953," Paul asserted.

Wagner asked Paul about his speech coming up at the Fatima Center, which she said has been accused of being an anti-Semitic organization. Asked if he would reconsider this speech, Paul said "no."

Wagner cited some of the items in that group's charter that led some to believe the organization is anti-Semitic. "I have nothing to do with that," Paul said. "Sounds to me like you have me on here to bash Catholics."

"There have been a lot of folks that have been involved with your campaign, supporters, newsletters that have been accredited to you that have strong anti-Semitic, racist undertones," Wagner said.

Paul said that he has been dealing with accusations like these his whole political career. "When people disagree with your ideas they have to destroy your character," Paul insisted."
