  1. I quit my job gave up an income and took in my parents. They were falling a lot and had moments of confusion. I could not go to them for they had a home in an all adult community and I had two children under 18. I built a area on to my home that provided them with a dining room, living room, bedroom and bath. I had a second mortgage to provide it. Fortunately my home sat on a large parcel of land.

I had my dad for six years and my mom for 16. I know she never would have lived as long as she did almost reaching 95 had I not taken on her care. For income that sustained me I watched neighborhood children that were in school but needed before and after school care and vacations. Then anything over that we shared mom's social security. I didn't need much for I live quite simply. I was even able to take her out to dinner for many of those years, that was something she loved.

As a result of this I wound up with little to no savings and 300 less than a thousand in SS, but I do not regret a day.

Love conquers all and my parents never knew the inside of one of these places.
