The FTC recently issued a release stating that TRENDnet, a company that
markets video cameras to allow people to monitor their homes and babies
remotely, was lax in their security measures, and as a result, hundreds
of their customers' homes and baby monitor streams were available online
for the whole world to watch. These home surveillance systems are an
example of The Internet of Things, and this security breach exemplifies
the danger that comes with this concept. The Resident (aka Lori
