Gold Silver And Commodities Likely Safer

Gold Silver And Commodities Likely Safer
An excerpt from Bob Chapman's weekly publication.
November 17 2010:

Oil can burn us badly, no wealth creation, not a good time to raise taxes, the time is now to discuss the antidote, Senate gridlock ahead, bears making lemons out of lemonade. Social Security adjustment in the mail.

We hear stories about oil and about how it will probably move higher, perhaps to $150.00 a barrel and perhaps higher. This is the first time in more than three years that it has moved to lofty levels. The net speculative long position is more than 200,000 contracts, or about 35% higher than in 2007. Some economies are doing well, particularly in Asia and in Latin America, but not enough to create such higher prices. $60.00 a barrel would more nearly meet demand. As is being experience by the entire commodity sector prices reflect the tremendous fear about money and credit unleashed over the past eight years, particularly over the past 2 years under QE1. That has produced unusual profits for commodity producers, as well as base and precious metals producers. This in turn will lead to higher wholesale prices for goods and part of that will spread to services as well. That in turn will force manufactures and others to raise prices, which will cut revenues and to some extent profits. If not passed on to consumers’ profits could fall more dramatically.

Silver, Gold prices up on global crisis fears

Gold and silver surged to a record high fueled by inflation and euro zone sovereign debt woes. Gold is hovering around peak levels- exceeding the 14-hundred-dollar-per-ounce mark. Silver is also maintaining its gains, having risen to a 30 year peak. Analysts say the demand for precious metals could continue to climb - amid low interest rates, the European sovereign-debt crisis, and jitters over the global economic slowdown. RT discusses the issue with Manoj Ladwa, Senior trader at E-T-X Capital, who is in London.

Mike Maloney - Gold should reach $15_000 oz!

Robert Kiyosaki, along with friend, and author of the Rich Dad Advisor Book, Guide to Investing in Gold and Silver, Mike Maloney, explains why gold and silver are vital investments for today's economy.

Bob Chapman : Russia buying as much gold as they can

Bob Chapman : ...Gorbachev is a member of the Illuminati that's why he left Russia , ...he slipped right in to the Illuminus camp and now he is trying to start trouble for Russia and that's what that's all about , because Russia has been buying Gold every month , for months and months and months and their economy is doing relatively well they are oil exporters as you very well know and they export a lot of commodities such as base metals and platinum and palladium and they hold their own Gold , they buy all the gold they produce in the country just like what China does and so they are the enemy as far as the Illuminus are concerned  and so they try to cause trouble....and it's not gonna work.....

Gold At $1,750 -- But When?

In 36 months three huge events are likely to happen which will drive the price of gold to $1,750. The first to pop will be the Australia housing bubble (see here: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/money/aus... -- this will lay bare the Australian economy. The second event is the fall of Japan (see here: http://blogs.wsj.com/source/2010/07/1... into bankruptcy, which will not only bring devastation to the Japanese but implode the world's second safe-haven currency, the Yen. The third event will be the Canadian housing bubble (see here: http://www.nationalpost.com/opinion/c... and debt bubble (see here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report... collapse. Furthermore, gold's price is unlikely to significantly fall, because America's total credit market debt as a percent of GDP is at its highest ever (360%) (see here: http://www.pimco.com/LeftNav/Featured... only meaning prolonged stagnation in the world's biggest economy, especially, if the U.S. government insists on creating debt as the private sector tries to pay it off. But that's only part of the 'gold-is-up' argument, because Germany is engaged per quarter in a $1 trillion-plus de-leveraging from the U.S. economy (cash that has helped to finance our domestic investment and economic activity for the last decade), and without it, further Treasury bond market manipulation by the Federal Reserve will occur to fill "the German liquidity gap". That means a broken and contracting U.S. credit system (see here: http://blog.rebeltraders.net/2010/07/... is a given for the future, only meaning a continually sustained strong gold price -- as a broken U.S. credit system means a blinkered U.S. economy with low foreign and corporate investment with concurrent diversification into gold. We would also be remiss to ignore that the London Bullion Market Association's (LBMA) statistics for May show that (see here: http://www.gata.org/node/8858) "*the average net daily trading in gold by LBMA member banks jumped a massive 50 percent from the month before to 24 million ounces each day from 16 million ounces each day. That translates to $7.5 trillion annually. If an operation is running on a razor-thin fractional reserve basis, such step changes are often fatal. It appears that a run on the bullion banks has commenced [which is why the LBMA and BIS is trying to conceal gold swaps information].*" Indeed, and do not be mistaken into seeing pass why the dollar is strong right now -- a falling dollar is unlikely as there are too many global debts denominated in dollars (i.e. too many people who want to unwind their debts and have to get dollars to do so, keeping the price high) but that cannot last forever and that's not a vote in confidence in the greenback. Gold is going to $1,750 in three years -- the only other choices are the Swiss franc (see here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/co... or emerging markets (see here: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/8c6ca37e-96...

Bob Chapman : gold, silver and commodities make sense in this negative environment

Bob Chapman on A Marines Disquisition

An excerpt from Bob Chapman's weekly publication The International Forecaster of the 20th October 2010..."...This is why gold, silver and commodities make sense in this negative environment. Where else can you go that is safe, as countries are most all developing beggar-thy-neighbor policies? We must say the eurozone has refrained from quantitative easing, but how long can that last? The euro just rose from $1.19 to $1.40, and the 12% to 15% price advantage for exports is in good part gone. Germany and other members will continue to see falling exports and that will put great pressure on the ECB to loosen up and perhaps to reduce interest rates. We are seeing one reflationary cycle after another in most nations and that does not solve the problems. We have seen that in the US with the Bush stimulus, then QE1. That is why QE2 is futile. All it does is enable higher gold, silver and commodity prices. The gold and silver markets have been a lock since June of 2000, or for 10 years. Compounded annual gains of almost 20% a year. These kinds of profits have existed nowhere else over that period. In fact nothing comes close and it is going to continue. What you are seeing is classical economics at play. Not only are they an inflationary, hyperinflationary and deflationary depression play, but they are as well the ultimate currency play. The only entity or currency that has no debt or encumbrances. Today we even have ETFs, that are supposed to have physical gold and silver, but instead are loaded with derivatives. We had best hope the derivatives market doesn’t fold, because if it does all the players therein will have some serious problems, as well the highly leveraged LBMA and Comex....."

Bob Chapman : Russia and china are strong Gold buyers

Bob Chapman on Gold and Silver discount trading 18 Oct 2010

Bob Chapman wrote on the International forecaster of the 13th october 2010 :....Russia has been a persistent gold buyer both of domestic production and in world markets. China has bought domestic production, but has not been aggressive as Russia in world markets, choosing a subtle market approach. We believe China will have to become much more progressive in the markets as their dollar holding rise, unless of course, there is a third world war. It is not difficult for China to use intermediaries to buy, as they have done in the past. China strongly markets both gold and silver to its citizens particularly in exchange for dollars. As a result of this Chinese approach, the overall BRIC approach and buying by the rest of the world, control of gold trading will soon be at an end. You might say how do we know this? It is a good question. Markets are not scientific they are an art form and we have been deeply involved in this gold and silver venue for over 50 years. As time passed you know what to look for and what to expect. That is how we project what should happen. The long study of finance, monetary policy and the desire for total world control have allowed us to back into what we believe will happen. For the past 21 years we have done that and have been right 98% of the time. Consequently we have an excellent opportunity of continuing to be correct....."

Robert Kiyosaki on Buying Gold to Protect against Inflation

How do you turn the financial crisis into your financial success? The value of paper money is going down. In five years, paper money may be valueless. Nowadays, there is unlimited printing of paper money. Countries are going bankrupt, and we may soon face a serious inflation problem in the US and Europe, just like some countries already are living. We're in a debt based economy.
Savings accounts give no security. He has the gold has money.
Gold has kept its value for over 3600 years. Would you rather have suitcase of printed dollars, or a suitcase of gold?

The International Forecaster September 2010 - Gold, Silver, Economy

The following are some snippets from the most recent issue of the International Forecaster. For the full 34 page issue, please see subscription information below.

US MARKETS

It is interesting to watch Wall Street defy reality. This is a scene we’ve observed since the early 1960s, the effect of debt on the economy and the nation and in turn on its currency. The result of the profligacy over all those years is the biggest bull market in history in gold and silver. As we write gold is toying with $1,300 and silver with $21.50. Each day a new high is reached in spite of a pending options expiration and the perpetual market rigging and manipulation by the US government.

One of the things that astound us is that few professionals have seen this coming over the past 10-1/2 years, and even those that do believe do not think this is an earth-shaking event. What we are about to experience is an event that only occurs every 300 to 500 years. All we can imagine is that they have a very limited perspective of history and particularly economic and financial history.

Bob Chapman : Gold will break all records

Bob Chapman wrote on The International Forecaster of September 15 2010: "Gold going higher, help creating jobs, Greece, Europe's poster child of failure, about quantitative easing, political corruption, real help is needed to create jobs.

On Friday, September 10, 2010, Horizon Bank, Bradenton, FL was closed by the Florida Office of Financial Regulation and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. No advance notice is given to the public when a financial institution is closed.

In site of intervention by “the Working Group on financial Markets”, gold has increased almost 16% year-to-date. It has done so for each of the past ten years, which has gone almost unnoticed by professionals and investors. Obviously some are watching or the price wouldn’t be where it is. Commodities have been up for 11 years and nine years for Treasuries. As you know we are trend followers, so gold and silver have been kind for our readers since June of 2000. That is after we bailed our subscribers out of the stock market in the second week of April of 2000. We were at a conference and Joe Granville made the same call on that sunny Saturday, so long ago."

Gold, Silver and Precious Metals Continue to Outperform the Market

Gold, Silver and Precious Metals Continue to Outperform the Market

by: Tom Cleveland, September 14, 2010

for : goldbasics.blogspot.com

From an investor perspective, the year of 2010 will go down in history as one of strange behavior, as basic time-honored correlations broke down and risk aversion seemed to grip the fragile psychology of both traders and investors alike. The threat of debt defaults from Greece and several other European member states have produced a steady drip of news on our respective foreheads since last year, while fears of a double-dip recession have blinded everyone’s vision of the road ahead.

The stars on this global stage have been Gold, Silver and other precious metals. Gold has had such incredible appreciation over the past decade that it is sometimes difficult to believe that it is not perched upon a precipice, waiting for an inevitable correction to occur. Other than general surges and minor consolidations, due more to speculation than anything else, Gold continues to outperform other basic indexes on an annual basis. Traditional correlations have also been broken in the process as the Dollar and Gold have chosen to join themselves at the hip for all of 2010, a break in the expected inverse trend.

Gold is not alone. Silver and other precious metals have also fared well over the period, although not to the same extent. Today, once again, Gold and Silver spiked up due to contrary news coming from Europe. Each metal has made significant gains during 2010, as new record highs have been set along each metal’s respective triumphal path.

The correlation in growth between both metals for the last year, as depicted in the chart above, has been quite remarkable. For the year, Gold rests at about 25% while Silver is just below 20%. The S&P 500 index has eked out an 8% gain, perhaps a little higher if dividends are thrown in, but the comparison is the reality of the moment, even after a record earnings season for the June quarter where earnings year-over-year were in the 35-40% range. More importantly, Gold and the stock index have been inversely correlated since May. The S&P 500 index just crossed its 200-day moving average, a sign of better times to come, but coincidentally enough, Gold just set a new record high in the process. Do correlations mean anything in this year of “strangeness”?

The breakdown in traditional correlations has confounded many analysts as they search for indications of how temporary these reversals might be. Currency trading has benefited from recent volatility, but choosing a currency to ride may not have the same gleam as Gold. Gold has always appreciated when the Dollar depreciates, but not so for the past year. The opposite has been true regarding the Euro and Gold, but once again, the times, they are a-changing. Gold and the greenback have be entwined in a dance for nearly ten months, while the Euro has become a wallflower searching for a potential suitor.

Risk aversion and its related flight of capital to safe havens are seen as the villains on this dance floor. Under these conditions, the primary beneficiaries are U.S. Treasury Bills and precious metals, especially Gold and Silver. Increased demand across the board has kept the Dollar and metals on their upward tracks. However, currencies do not have intrinsic value. Capital outflows may impact the relative value of the Dollar, but Gold is hardly a temporary investment.

"The question on everyone’s lips is whether now is a good time to buy
more Gold or Silver? Timing , which also applies in forex appears to be the only concern these days. Technical
indicators presently show that both metals are in an “overbought”
condition, suggesting that a small correction in price may be imminent. In
the last three weeks alone, Silver has risen 15%, while Gold marched on at
a 5% clip. A small pullback is to be expected after such impressive run
ups."

What do the fundamentals say? Here is a quick recap for Gold:

*

Intrinsic Value: There is no sign that Gold will lose its luster or safe haven status;
*

Hedge Against Inflation: Over time, interest rates in the developed world will move up as recoveries proceed. Inflation concerns in the U.K. already exist. Gold is the perfect hedge for the perfect “inflation storm” that is slowly brewing in developed countries;
*

Mining Prospects: Taxes on mining interests has not slowed exploration, but new supplies are not expected to flood the market;
*

Industrial Usage: No signs for decline foreseen in this area;
*

Current Inventories: Central banks have no reason to release or sell their massive reserves. China would gladly exchange Dollar CDs for Gold today.

The year of 2010 has confounded investors, but Gold and other precious metals continue to retain their intrinsic values and appreciate beyond everyone’s expectations. Entry timing may be the only concern at the moment.

The triumph of Gold as the only world currency

Time Out Bob Chapman 09-10-2010

Time Out Productions presents Bob Chapman, the publisher, editor and writer of The International Forecaster. Covered on the show is the 9th year anniversary of the events of 9-11, the possible war with Iran, Obama's wild spending, The Federal Reserve, and much more ...

Here is what Bob Chapman wrote in the International Forecaster of Sept 08 2010 :"We are sure you all remember the supposed swap of 349 tons of gold between commercial banks and the BIS, the Bank for International Settlements. Commercial banks usually work through central banks that represent them at the BIS; thus, this was an unusual procedure, only discovered when someone picked up a footnote in the BIS statement. Making the event more sinister was that there were no BIS official announcement and that the BIS refused to name the banks involved. This is similar to the Fed refusing to divulge to whom they lent $12.8 trillion. We believe these swaps terminate in January, so we anxiously wait to see what the conclusion will be. Will the gold be redeemed or will it become the property of the BIS, or will the swap terms be extended? We guess the real question is were those who did the swap gold bullion banks? Was the public sale of gold by the IMF a factor? Remember the IMF swore they would never dump gold on the open market, but yet they did just that. Adding to the mystery is that the BIS have seldom used gold swaps in recent years. Due to the secrecy involved we tilt toward a billion-bank bailout. In addition we saw fully qualified buyers rejected and gold sold into the market by the IMF. There can be only one reason for that and that is gold price suppression. As it has turned out every time the IMF sells the Russians go into the market and buy it. We also remember a similar episode in the late 1990s when Gordon Brown, the British Treasury Secretary, sold off half of England’s gold at about $275.00 an ounce to bail out London bullion banks."

Bob Chapman : buy More Gold this is just a correction

Bob Chapman on discount gold and Silver trading 21 July 2010

This is an interconnected world every country is suffering from the same things we do in America says Bob Chapman , in some countries the real estate market is booming because they pay in cash not in credit as in the developed countries ..
"The reality is that no matter how smart, how strong, how educated or how hard working American workers are, they just cannot compete with people who are desperate to put in 10 to 12 hour days at less than a dollar an hour on the other side of the world. After all, what corporation in their right mind is going to pay an American worker 10 times more (plus benefits) to do the same job? The world is fundamentally changing. Wealth and power are rapidly becoming concentrated at the top and the big global corporations are making massive amounts of money. Meanwhile, the American middle class is being systematically wiped out of existence as U.S. workers are slowly being merged into the new "global" labor pool." Bob Chapman in the International Forecaster of July 17th 2010

Gold at $36,000 Not as Ridiculous as It Sounds?

CNBC.com | May 26, 2010 | 07:20 AM EDT

Gold has reached record highs in recent weeks, but it will continue to rise, Ben Davies, CEO of Hinde Capital told CNBC Wednesday.

Gold should be viewed not as a commodity, but as a cash supplement, Davies said.

“There’s been such proliferation of currency,” he said. “As a consequence, gold is very undervalued.”

“I could be really obtuse and say $36, 000,” he said. “But actually it’s not as ridiculous as it might sound.”

If all the reported Fort Knox gold was re-valued at $36,000 per ounce, it would pay off all the debt in the US, he said.
On Monday, Dennis Gartman reversed his call for gold investors to rush to the exits, saying the precious metal was no longer overbought, but also warned that it was a technical call and he is "not a gold bug."

John Stadtmiller, one of America’s true radio trailblazers with his early creation of “Republic International” (later renamed “Genesis Communications Network”), and now the “Republic Broadcasting Network”, the fastest growing truth radio station in the country.

John’s “National Intel Report” is hard hitting and to the point with information you won’t find in the mainstream media. If you believe the Constitution is the law of the land, but sense that something is seriously wrong in our country, then listen to the “National Intel Report” for the best guests, news and information!

RBN has some of the best informative shows out there. Their archives are only $1.33 per month. I suggest supporting them and then you don't have to wait for their shows to be uploaded here.
Highlights:

RBN is now on KTMR 1130 AM Converse, Texas serving nearby San Antonio....Austin and Dallas/Forth Worth are next. Indianapolis is coming soon.

Unemployment is about 23 % in the United States. John mentions that he has been doing this type of show for 20 years because the media isn't doing their job. He goes on to mention that the mainstream media listens to him even though they can't report on the truth.

Bob says with the situation with Israel...Gold should be up $50.

John mentions that the Israeli's scoop up raw sewage and shoot it on Palestinian homes. The only country that hasn't condemned Israel is the United States.

Turkey is going to send a couple of warships to Gaza. You have to go to a foreign news source like Russian TV to get the truth on news about Israel. (Note: RT Russia Today video clips are available on You Tube).

John mentions that some Orthodox Jews don't believe in Israel because the only way they could have a country is when their Messiah comes back. This fact is heavily censored by mainstream media.

Robby again mentions about that Christian Zionism film and John offers to give John Hagee's parishioners free copies of the film. John went on to mention that he is going after Hagee with a vengeance.

Overall, this was a very good program .

Extract from the THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER of SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010 : "
On Wednesday spot gold rose $13.50 to $1,213.30, as June traded up $13.40. Spot silver, which has been up $0.54 ended there, but didn’t fare that well in July, ending up $0.39. At one time gold was up $17.00. The dollar continues to rally, or should we say the euro continues to tank. When the USDX was 89 last year and gold was $900 an ounce. Today gold is over $1,200 an ounce. The dollar was strong, but gold was stronger. The euro should be basing out over $1.20. If that happens the dollar head and shoulders will be completed. The dollar will either break out higher, which we doubt, or it will break down and test 74 again. The elitists have to inflate or the system collapses. Inflation, which is currently 8%, will soon turn into hyperinflation. Already the administration is asking for $100 billion. It will take a minimum of five times that to keep the economy from slipping into oblivion. GLD supposedly gained 47 tons in two days. That explains why the derivative market was so busy. Like Germany and Switzerland, gold is being used as money in Greece. This reflects the insanity of governments and those who control them. It also proves that the only way you can protect your assets is by owning gold. Soon Americans will catch on and the stampede will be on, only with none being offered. June open interest is very large at this juncture – some 156,156 contracts, which go to first notice on May 28th. They must be paid to stand for delivery, sold or rolled. That is 15 million ounces of gold or five times dealer inventory, or 21% of global annual production. The word in from Australia is that the definition of super profit has been increased to 11-12 percent from six percent. These people are true idiots."
