He railed against their inability to accept a law of the land upheld by the Supreme Court, thought Glenn Beck and his BlazeTV co-hosts found it interesting the same doesn't apply for, say Citizens United. But more importantly, Beck seemed somewhat troubled with where Reid is at mentally these days.

Beck listened to Reid going off on the "tea party anarchists" and swearing to fight Obamacare so long as he's in the Senate, and after some light ribbing, Beck said he thinks there truly might be something wrong with Reid.

"I mean this sincerely. I think there is something wrong with Harry Reid. I think Harry Reid may be... he may have had a stroke, he may be going senile, he may have Alzheimer's, I don't know."
They spent the rest of the segment mercilessly mocking Reid for also talking on the Senate floor about just how much he loves to go grocery shopping to "look around, buy things."

Consumer debt can be defined as 'money, goods or services provided to an individual in lieu of payment.' Common forms of consumer credit include credit cards, store cards, motor (auto) finance, personal loans (installment loans), consumer lines of credit, retail loans (retail installment loans) and mortgages. In the first half of the program, George Knapp was joined by Dr. John Alexander, who discussed his recent trips to West Africa and Mongolia where he met shamans and observed voodoo rituals. He described voodoo more as a "way of life," rather than an organized religion, in these regions of the world. To that end, he noted that practitioners seek advice from voodoo priests on a variety of issues including medical insights as well as general life counseling. Alexander dismissed the Western characterization of the religion as sinister and argued that "the vast majority of the voodoo ceremonies are based on positive outcomes for the community."

Over the course of his appearance, Alexander detailed a number of voodoo rituals that he witnessed during his expedition, such as a fire ceremony which he described as amazing. Unlike the simple practice of briskly walking across red hot coals, he said, this ceremony featured participants who performed stunning feats like remaining unscathed while holding flaming logs as well as biting pieces of burning wood and safely keeping the fiery remnant in their mouth for over a minute. According to Alexander, knowledge of voodoo wisdom, such as how to perform these practices, is a closely guarded secret. The secrecy is so strict, he said, that while the head voodoo priest may be known to his village, the identities of his students remains a mystery until the priest reveals his successor shortly before his death.

In the latter half, author Bill Birnes talked about his role on the defunct TV series UFO Hunters and what it's like to investigate the compelling and sometimes chilling evidence of UFO phenomena. He explained that the program differed from previous paranormal television shows because it aimed to examine all the possible explanations for key UFO events rather than simply highlighting a case and eschewing an investigation. Birnes recalled various 'behind the scenes' machinations which occurred during the creation of the program, including being told that "UFOs don't sell" by a TV executive and a legal battle over the name "UFO Hunters," which briefly saw two competing shows using the same title.

"If you think you're coming into a community and people are welcoming you with open arms, because you are investigating UFOs, sometimes it's exactly the opposite," he said about the challenges of producing UFO Hunters. He illustrated this point by noting difficulties they encountered while making the Maury Island episode of the show. In the early planning stages, Birnes said, they were rebuffed by angry investigators who closely guarded their own research and accused the program of trying to usurp their work. Additionally, during the on location taping the show, an irate resident of the area approached them, while wielding a handgun, and insisted that they leave the area. Although the crew convinced the man that they had the proper paperwork to film and he departed, Birnes recalled, "next thing you know, we're hearing gunshots and somebody says, 'this guy's shooting at us!'"

Rand Paul: 'If John Roberts Loves ObamaCare So Much, He Should Get It'

9/23/13 - Chief Justice John Roberts is considered by many to be the man who saved ObamaCare, having framed it as a tax in his historic 2012 decision upholding its constitutionality—and now Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) wants him to sign up for it. Appearing on Fox & Friends Monday morning, Paul announced plans to amend the law to force all government employees—including Roberts—off their subisidized health care and into the Affordable Care Act exchanges.

"I think Congress should never exempt themselves from a law," Paul said. "But then again, I think John Roberts, he loves ObamaCare so much, he should get it. Right now, he's getting a federal employee subsidy. He's not part of ObamaCare. He makes the rest of America—through, I think, convoluted Constitutional logic—he makes us get ObamaCare, but he's exempt. So I have an amendment that I will introduce that says all the federal government gets ObamaCare, including federal employees and including John Roberts."

F&F host Brian Kilmeade claimed that for many government staffers, ObamaCare would mean a rise in premiums.

"I'm not excited about doing that to staff or federal employees," Paul replied. "But if the president thinks ObamaCare is a good idea, and if John Roberts thinks he can twist the Constitution and make ObamaCare constitutional, he ought to get it."

In economics, consumer debt is outstanding debt of consumers, as opposed to businesses or governments. In macroeconomic terms, it is debt which is used to fund consumption rather than investment. It includes debts incurred on purchase of goods that are consumable and/or do not appreciate.[1]
In recent years, an alternative analysis might view consumer debt as a way to increase domestic production, on the grounds that if credit is easily available, the increased demand for consumer goods should cause an increase of overall domestic production. The permanent income hypothesis suggests that consumers take debt to smooth consumption throughout their lives, borrowing to finance expenditures (particularly housing and schooling) earlier in their lives and paying down debt during higher-earning periods.
Both domestic and international economists have supported a recent upsurge in South Korean consumer debt, which has helped fuel economic expansion. On the other hand, credit card debt is almost unknown just across the sea in Japan and China, because of long-standing cultural taboos against personal debt. Theoretical underpinnings aside, personal debt is on the rise, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom. However according to the US Federal Reserve the US household debt service ratio is at the lowest level since its peak in the Fall of 2007.[2]
The most common forms of consumer debt are credit card debt, payday loans, and other consumer finance, which are often at higher interest rates than long-term secured loans, such as mortgages. The amount of debt outstanding versus the consumer's disposable income is expressed as the consumer leverage ratio. The interest rate charged depends on a range of factors, including the economic climate, perceived ability of the customer to repay, competitive pressures from other lenders, and the inherent structure and security of the credit product. Rates generally range from 0.25 percent above base-rate, to well into double figures. Consumer debt is also associated with Predatory lending, although there is much debate as to what exactly constitutes predatory lending.

Long-term consumer debt is often considered fiscally suboptimal. While some consumer items may be useful investments that justify debt (such as automobiles, which are usually but not always exempted in discussions of consumer debt), most consumer goods are not. For example, incurring high-interest consumer debt through buying a big-screen television "now", rather than saving for it, can not usually be financially justified by the subjective benefits of having the television early. On the other hand, personal finance advisers like Robert Kiyosaki encourage a more liberal attitude towards taking on debt if it can be leveraged into a small business or real estate. This higher-risk, possibly high-outcome, "personal-finances-as-a-game" attitude runs counter to the traditional mores of rising slowly through the ranks of a company through discipline and hard work, but may have increasing validity in an age of globalization.
In many countries, the ease with which individuals can accumulate consumer debt beyond their means to repay has precipitated a growth industry in debt consolidation and credit counseling.
